Prepare the way of the Lord/Preparen el camino del Señor by/por Magdalena L. Garcia

A voice crying out in the wilderness:
“Prepare the way for the Lord;
make his paths straight.
Every valley will be filled,
and every mountain and hill will be leveled.
The crooked will be made straight
and the rough places made smooth.
All humanity will see God’s salvation.”
Luke 3:4b-6, CEB

Hurricane winds blow
and tear down electric poles,
but we cannot allow them to sweep away
our calling to be light for the world.
Prepare the way for the Lord;
make his paths straight.

Torrential rains fall
and turn streets into rivers,
but we cannot allow them to submerge
our calling to be a bridge for the world.
Prepare the way for the Lord;
make his paths straight.

The swirling waters rise
and flood the farming fields,
but we cannot allow them to drown
our calling to be bread for the world.
Prepare the way for the Lord;
make his paths straight.

The forest fires blaze
and cause death and displacement,
but we cannot allow them to burn
our calling to be relief for the world.
Prepare the way for the Lord;
make his paths straight.

The foundations of the earth shake
and the cracks swallow up lives and houses,
but we must not allow them to collapse
our calling to be a refuge for the world.
Prepare the way for the Lord;
make his paths straight.

The earth’s temperature rises
and extreme climate increases poverty,
but we must not allow it to evaporate
our calling to be sustenance for the world.
Prepare the way for the Lord;
make his paths straight.

Preparen el camino

«Una voz grita en el desierto:
“Preparen el camino del Señor;

Preparen el camino del Señor;

Preparen el camino del Señor;

Preparen el camino del Señor;
ábranle un camino recto.

Los incendios forestales arden
y causan muertes y desplazamientos,
Preparen el camino del Señor;

Preparen el camino del Señor;

Preparen el camino del Señor;
ábranle un camino recto.
